Decorated Plate

This is a christmas plate my daughter made in school this year.   Get a clear glass plate (this was saucer size), turn the plate over, and place decorative muffin cups, flatten them out to create a pretty pattern.  Once the muffin cups are where you want them, cover the entire back with Mod Podge.   Let dry.  The top of the plate can be wiped clean, but do not get the bottom of the plate wet.  This plate was such a precious present!  It is gorgeous.

Baked Tacos

First, brown your ground beef and drain completely.

Next,  add refried beans, taco seasoning and about half a can of tomato sauce or tomato soup.

Mix together and scoop into taco shells, (stand them up in a casserole dish).

Sprinkle the cheese on top and bake at 375 for 10 minutes.

Very easy to make, and the kids like to put them together, and eat them!

I have been making play dough for my daughter since she was a year old - she is now ten!  It is easy to make!  Here are two easy recipes.

Play Dough

1 c. flour

1/2 c. salt

1 c. water

1T. oil

2 tsp. cream of tartar

Food coloring if you desire

Mix all ingredients except color in saucepan.  Heat, stirring constantly.  When the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan and is not sticky, remove pan from heat.  Knead dough add color if you desire.  Let dough cool to room temperature before storing.  Store in air-tight bags or small containers.

Kool-aid Play Dough

1 c. flour

1 pkg. unsweetened Kool-aid

2 T. cream of tartar

1 T. vegetable oil

1/4 c. salt

1 c water

Mix flour, salt, tarter and Kool-aid in saucepan.  Add water and oil.  Stir over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes.  When mixture forms a ball, remove from pan.  Knead until smooth.  Cool to room temperature and store in air-tight bags or containers.    KIDS ARE MORE LIKELY TO TRY TO EAT THIS FORM, SINCE IT HAS THE KOOL AID SMELL!
